Unable to add or remove MCMS site via Server Configuration Application (SCA)
Exception in MCMS Configuration Application - Web Server Configuration dialog:
Unexpected Error! Failed to set Entry Point to Read Only. Screenshot
The exception is caused by /NR/System/ folder incorrectly mapped as virtual folder in IIS. Screenshot.
This bug is fixed in WAE v2.0.7.0 and later versions
Solution
If you are running WAE v2.0.5.1 or previous version:
- Disable WAE at all web sites using WAE Configuration Application prior to uninstalling.
- Uninstall previous version of WAE
- Install MCMS SP2 (optional)
- Install WAE v2.0.7.x and enable WAE. Read How to upgrade to WAE v2.0.7.0 and MCMS SP2
If you are running WAE v2.0.7.0:
- Go through all MCMS-enabled web sites in IIS and delete NR\System virtual folder. Make sure you are deleting the virtual folder, not the folder on your disk. Refresh IIS tree
- Create new WBC virtual directory under /NR/System/. Map it to <WAE Install Folder>\Server\WBC folder.
- Restart IIS.
